Tokyo, Japan – SoftBank Corp. on Thursday announced it has developed a multi-AI agent platform based on its Large Telecom Model to automate network operations.

The company has begun testing the platform for base-station integration tasks.

The system employs multiple task-specific AI agents that coordinate to manage network analysis, decision-making, and execution.

SoftBank said the deployment aims to address operational challenges posed by growing telecommunications traffic and network complexity, which require real-time technical responses amid industry labor shortages.

During base station integration—a process conducted during initial site setup or hardware configuration changes—the AI agents evaluate system logs and configuration data.

When anomalies are detected, the agents identify the root cause, formulate a response plan, notify personnel, and execute technical solutions.

The multi-agent system is designed to reduce operational bottlenecks resulting from reliance on individual technical specialists and to increase the speed of network management responses.

SoftBank said it plans to expand the platform's use to additional operational areas, including fault response, traffic optimization, quality improvement, and equipment maintenance.

The company introduced the Large Telecom Model in March 2025.
