U.S. Tech Industry to Hit $565B in 2026: CTA

Consumer Technology Association projects U.S. tech revenue at $565B for 2026, up 3.7%. Global market forecast at $1.3T.

LAS VEGAS — The Consumer Technology Association said Sunday that U.S. consumer technology industry revenue will reach $565 billion in 2026, up 3.7 percent from 2025.

The trade group released the figures at its CES 2026 trade show. Hardware revenue is projected at $371 billion, up 3.4 percent, while software and services revenue is projected at $194 billion, up 4.2 percent.

Unit shipments are expected to remain flat, the association said.

Brian Comiskey, senior director of innovation and trends at the Consumer Technology Association, presented the forecast.

The association also released global market data compiled with market research firm NIQ showing worldwide consumer technology and durables revenue of $1.3 trillion in 2026.

Regional projections show Europe at $307 billion, up 3 percent; Asia-Pacific at $512 billion, down 3 percent; North America at $336 billion, flat year over year; Latin America at $61 billion, up 2 percent; and the Middle East and Africa at $74 billion, up 3 percent.

The association conducted surveys on the use of artificial intelligence in workplaces across six countries.

In the United States, 63 percent of respondents reported using AI at work. The figure was 56 percent in the United Kingdom, 48 percent in South Korea, 47 percent in France, 45 percent in the Netherlands, and 41 percent in Germany.

U.S. respondents reported time savings of 8.7 hours per week from AI use. U.K. and South Korean respondents reported 8 hours per week, while German respondents reported 6.5 hours, and French and Netherlands respondents reported 6.4 hours.

The association categorized AI development into three types: agentic AI, which operates autonomously; vertical AI, specialized for specific industries; and industrial AI, embedded in infrastructure and manufacturing systems.

Companies including Waymo and Zoox operate autonomous vehicle services in some U.S. cities.

At CES 2026, Doosan is exhibiting autonomous construction equipment, and John Deere is showing autonomous tractors.

LV Energy is exhibiting technology that converts ambient noise into electrical energy.

Korea Hydro and Nuclear Power and Korea Electric Power Corporation are exhibiting power generation technologies.

Health technology products at the show include diagnostic tools from Vivoo, body composition scales from Withings, and Oura's wearable rings.

L'Oreal and Kolmar Korea are showing AI-based skin analysis systems.

According to the presentation, Caterpillar is deploying AI in construction and mining equipment.

Caterpillar Chief Executive Joe Creed will speak at the show on Wednesday. Kubota is showing robotic farming equipment.

The Consumer Technology Association owns and produces CES.
