East Telecom, a subsidiary of KT (NYSE: KT), is partnering with KT to build a state-of-the-art data center in the Yunusabad district of Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

The 6,000-square-meter facility will house more than 300 racks of advanced equipment, and construction will begin in April 2024.

Since its establishment in 2003, East Telecom has become a leading telecommunications provider in Uzbekistan and has expanded its services to include data center solutions and digital transformation (DT) services.

The new data center will have state-of-the-art security measures, redundant power and cooling systems, and 24-hour monitoring and support.

East Telecom’s colocation services allow customers to lease their servers and equipment space, taking advantage of the facility’s infrastructure while maintaining data control.

Designed for businesses of all sizes, the center offers scalable IT infrastructure solutions and managed IT services to help customers reduce costs and improve operations.

In response to the growing demand for IT services in Uzbekistan and Central Asia, East Telecom plans to introduce advanced cloud services and build a second data center near Tashkent.

The company’s long-term strategy is to create a data center belt in Central Asia and extend its services to Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan to become a leading innovative ICT company in the region.
