The COVID-19 pandemic has directly affected the travel industry.

Companies are launching an alternative tour package to overcome the decline in business and high demand from citizens.

MyRealTrip will launch virtual tour packages with Asiana Airlines (KRX: 020560) as a flight to nowhere. The special tour package will be offered on October 31 and November 1.

Participants will enjoy a 2-hour and 20-minute flight from Incheon International Airport. The Asiana Airlines A380-800 fleet will fly over South Korean territory, Incheon - Gangneung - Pohang - Gimhae - Jeju - Incheon.

Passengers will enjoy the same in-flight food and entertainment as on regular flights.

Participants will be joined by the local tour guide in Hong Kong or Paris via the online environment as a virtual tour.

MyRealTrip launched the virtual tour in June of last year.

According to the South Korean press, the number of users has increased from 1.5 to 2 times per week compared to the same period the previous year.

About 104 virtual tour programs are now sold on the MyRealTrip website.

Asiana Airlines ran the same concept of a flight to nowhere for two days last September. Business class was sold out within 20 minutes of the promotion's launch.

MyRealTrip changed the tour programs from famous foreign places to domestic places like Jeju or Busan.

Even the COVID-19 pandemic is directly impacting the decline in business; MyRealTrip raised its Series D funding of KRW 43.2 billion (USD 36 million) from seven venture capital firms in July.
