IT Outsourcing Firm Seeso Acquires Developer Community Career.ly

Seoul, South Korea—South Korean IT outsourcing company Seeso said on Friday that it had acquired Publy, the operator of developer community service Career.ly.

Seeso, founded in 2018, aims to build a user-centric career service in the HR market and, through this acquisition, provides a platform to solve job matching and talent discovery challenges.

Career.ly, launched in 2019 as "South Korea's LinkedIn," has grown to become the country's largest developer community with 380,000 registered users, including 50,000 developers.

Seeso plans to introduce an AI-powered "Career Agent" feature, leveraging its extensive job posting data and AI technology to offer personalized career management services based on user profiles from the Career.ly community.

The company has already launched a job posting feature on Career.ly, which automatically aggregates and analyzes data from hundreds of companies. 

Seeso expects to release an AI service based on user profiles in the fourth quarter of 2024.

The company said that Seeso is preparing for additional fundraising based on its second-half performance.
