KT (NYSE: KT) has partnered with Lotte On, Lotte Group’s eCommerce platform, to provide digital services to the logistics industry.

The companies will deploy KT’s Logistics Intelligence Suite for Freight Optimization (LIS’FO) in approximately 70 Lotte Marts nationwide.

LIS’FO by KT, an AI-based transportation platform that leverages Big Data and optimization algorithms, has already been deployed by more than 20 major domestic retailers and 1,200 vehicles.

The partnership between KT and Lotte On strengthens business competitiveness by combining KT’s digital transformation capabilities with Lotte On’s logistics data.

The solution will shorten delivery preparation time by reducing manual labor and driving distance and time while promoting green distribution.

The deployment of LIS’FO resulted in a reduction in delivery preparation time from 30 minutes to 3 minutes, a 22% reduction in driving distance, an 11% reduction in driving time, and a 22% reduction in carbon emissions.

The results will also be incorporated into the KT AI system to improve LIS’FO’s performance over time.

Meanwhile, in a press release, KT announced that it had launched a platform that leverages big mobility data collected over ten years and KT AI logistics technology developed in-house.

In addition, KT established LoLab, a group company specializing in digital logistics, in 2021 and is applying KT’s digital transformation strategy to logistics sites.
