Seoul, South Korea—LG Electronics has formed a partnership with digital art platform Artlume to transform over 200 million LG Smart TVs globally into virtual art galleries.

The collaboration will provide access to Artlume's extensive collection of over 15,000 artworks on LG Smart TVs equipped with webOS 6.0 and subsequent operating systems, including models released as early as 2020.

The digital art catalog features a diverse range of works, including classical masterpieces, contemporary photography, AI-generated art, and pieces from renowned institutions such as London's National Portrait Gallery and the Ashmolean Museum.

The mobile application lets users curate personalized playlists and display their selections on LG Smart TVs.

The platform also leverages AI capabilities to generate artistic content, empowering users to create and showcase their artwork through predefined prompts.

In a statement, Chris Jo, senior vice president of platform business at LG Media Entertainment Solution Company, said the partnership's goal is to facilitate a transformation in people's engagement with art.

"We are committed to making a significant and positive impact on humanity," stated Patrick Ashworth, the founder and CEO of Artlume.

LG has a strategic initiative to enhance the home entertainment experience through various partnerships, including the arts.

Through this, LG is expected to differentiate itself in the increasingly competitive smart TV market and improve the consumer experience.
