Seoul, South Korea - LG Electronics (LG) announced the launch of its new 21.3" 5-megapixel diagnostic monitor, the 21HQ613D, which recently received FDA clearance for sale in the United States.

Designed specifically for digital mammography and breast tomosynthesis, the monitor features an IPS display with a resolution of 2,048 x 2,560, a luminance of 1100 cd/m², and a contrast ratio 1800:1.

The 21HQ613D features an internal front calibration sensor and calibration software to ensure consistent image quality.

The monitor also includes helpful features such as Focus View Mode, Pathology Mode, and Multi-Resolution Mode, which allow users to examine medical images closely.

In addition, the monitor supports daisy-chaining via the DisplayPort connection, reducing desktop clutter and simplifying cable management.

With this new product, LG responds to the rapidly growing global demand for mammography monitors.

The company now offers 13 types of medical monitors, covering the primary display needs of large hospitals.

LG has also secured a €10 million contract with France's hospital IT purchasing center, CAIH, to supply eight types of medical monitors over the next four years.

This is the company's largest contract since entering the medical imaging equipment business in 2016.
