Seoul, South Korea - Naver Corp (035420. KS) launched a beta version of its AI-powered shopping platform "Naver Plus Store" on Wednesday, expanding its e-commerce capabilities with enhanced personalization features.

The new platform utilizes Naver's proprietary AiTEMS technology to deliver personalized product recommendations, promotions, and real-time shopping trends based on individual user preferences and browsing patterns.

Naver's AI recommendation system has demonstrated 50% higher click-through rates compared to traditional shopping search results, with purchase conversion rates increasing 40% year-over-year as of September 2024.

The company is bifurcating its shopping services into two distinct channels: "Naver Price Comparison" for specification-based product searches and "Naver Plus Store" for AI-recommended shopping experiences.

"Naver Plus Store marks the beginning of hyper-personalized commerce with advanced AI technology integration," Naver CEO Soo Yeon Choi said in a statement.

The platform processes multiple data points including store-specific product information, promotional content, and live shopping trends to create tailored user experiences.

For example, users interested in athletic wear will receive recommendations for trending sportswear alongside real-time special offers and membership benefits.

The service aims to boost small business growth across Naver's ecosystem, which currently hosts approximately 700,000 smart stores.

The platform's AI algorithms are designed to match merchants with both existing customers and potential new buyers through personalized recommendation channels.

Naver has been evolving its e-commerce capabilities since launching its price comparison service in the 2000s, followed by O2O services in 2014 and AI recommendations in 2017.

The company introduced its Smart Store platform in 2018, enabling easy online store creation for small businesses.
