Seoul, South Korea / Tokyo, Japan - NAVER Pay has expanded its reach in Japan. The expansion includes cooperation with PayPay merchants through Alipay Plus.
As of January 29, NAVER Pay X Alipay Plus on-site payments are available at PayPay merchant locations displaying Alipay Plus partner logos.
This expansion allows NAVER Pay users to make payments at a wider range of Japanese establishments, such as convenience stores, shopping malls, duty-free shops and restaurants, without the need for currency exchange.
PayPay is Japan's leading QR payment brand, supporting more than 3 million merchants.
Since last year, NAVER Pay has been gradually expanding its on-site QR payment service to various countries. Currently, the service is available in 65 overseas countries and regions.
Payments through NAVER Pay can be made using NAVER Money and NAVER Points, bypassing currency conversion.
The service also offers the advantage of "point withdrawal" after a transaction, similar to domestic payment services.
