SEOUL, South Korea—As a Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partner, Samsung Electronics will employ Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphones to capture distinctive footage of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony on the Seine River and the sailing competitions.

The company announced this plan in collaboration with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS).

During the opening ceremony, over 200 Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphones will be installed on athlete boats, while additional devices will be placed on competition boats for the sailing events in Marseille.

The high-dynamic-range (HDR) footage will be disseminated via a private 5G network provided by Orange, the official mobile network provider of Paris 2024 in France.

In a statement, Stephanie Choi, Executive Vice President and Head of Marketing for the Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics, indicated that the company is engaged in a collaborative effort with the IOC and OBS to provide high-quality footage and to facilitate a closer connection between fans and the Olympic Games.

This collaboration continues Samsung's commitment to driving digital transformation and delivering technology at the Olympic Games.

Further details regarding the company's technological innovations will be disclosed in the forthcoming weeks.
