Toss Parent Viva Republica Partners with LG Uplus on AI Technology Integration

Seoul, South Korea—Viva Republica, operator of the South Korean mobile financial platform Toss, and LG Uplus Corp (032640. KS) have entered into a partnership agreement to develop artificial intelligence technology, as announced by the companies on Tuesday.

The partnership will integrate LG Uplus's AI technology, 'ixi,' into the Toss mobile application to create differentiated customer experiences in financial services.

Since September, the companies have been conducting A/B testing to evaluate user preferences and the effectiveness of AI content through the Toss application. 

This has involved randomly displaying different versions to distinct user groups and analyzing the resulting responses.

The companies will apply the test results to future joint marketing initiatives and discuss ways to combine Toss's intellectual property with the ixi AI technology.

The partnership agreement includes plans to expand the implementation of ixi functionality into Toss's B2B services.

"The collaboration between Toss's extensive user base across all age groups and LG Uplus's superior AI technology capabilities will usher in a new era of digital innovation," Toss CEO SG Lee stated in its press release.

LG Uplus Consumer Division President Jung stated that the partnership would establish a new standard in AI marketing, focusing on the 'Zalpha' generation and providing differentiated digital experiences in the financial services sector.
