VivaTech 2024: Record-breaking event, global tech leaders

Paris, France—The eighth edition of Viva Technology (VivaTech), Europe's largest startup and technology event, concluded on May 25th. 

The number of attendees reached a new record, with over 165,000 individuals in attendance and 13,500 startups participating. 

This represents a 10% and 20% increase from the previous year.

The four-day event in Paris attracted many prominent figures from the technology sector, including Elon Musk, Eric Schmidt, and Bernard Arnault, who presided over the LVMH Innovation Awards. 

Moreover, government officials, including Japan's Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and European Commissioner Thierry Breton, were in attendance.

VivaTech significantly emphasized artificial intelligence (AI) and sustainable technology, with over 40% of exhibitors showcasing AI innovations. 

Furthermore, the inaugural event inaugurated AI Avenue, a designated area for AI solutions. 

A total of 400 debates were held, two-thirds of which were international in scope. The debates addressed a range of critical technological issues.

Another significant theme was diversity, with over 40% of speakers being women.

Moreover, VivaTech facilitated initiatives designed to support underrepresented entrepreneurs and advance women's participation in the technology sector.

The event generated considerable interest, with approximately 50 exclusive global and European announcements. 

Moreover, the event served as a business and funding accelerator, facilitating over 400,000 business connections through digital channels alone.

VivaTech is scheduled to return to Paris from June 11 to June 14, 2025, with organizers aiming to build on the success of this year's event.
