Web Summit Qatar Debuts with 15k+ Attendees

Doha, Qatar - Web Summit Qatar attracted 15,453 attendees from 118 countries.

The sold-out event underscores Qatar's drive to become a regional technology hub.

The Summit attracted 1,043 startups, the largest gathering of startups in the Middle East, including 10% from Qatar.  

Women were well represented at the event, making up 37% of attendees and 30% of speakers.

Many 401 investors attended, signaling a growing interest in the region's burgeoning tech scene.

380 Notable speakers at the event included Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and comedian Trevor Noah.

The Qatari government announced a $1 billion commitment to invest in global venture capital funds, signaling its support for technology development.
