Tokyo, Japan - Yahoo Japan has introduced a new AI-powered feature called "Minna no Chiebukuro" (Everyone's Knowledge Bag) for its popular Q&A platform, Yahoo! Chiebukuro.

The feature, launched on September 26, 2024, utilizes Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) technology to generate responses based on approximately 160 million best answers from the platform's extensive database.

The new functionality builds upon Yahoo! Chiebukuro's existing AI answer feature, which began testing in November 2023 using OpenAI's generative AI.

In May 2024, the platform added Anthropic's Claude 3 through Amazon Web Service’s Amazon Bedrock, expanding its AI capabilities.

"Minna no Chiebukuro" analyzes user questions using OpenAI's generative AI to identify similar queries.

It then references up to five relevant best answers from the platform's database to generate a unique response.

The system also provides URLs to the original Q&A pages, allowing users to access additional information.

LINE Yahoo Corporation reports that its AI answer feature has responded to over 1.61 million questions since its introduction.

The company aims to enhance Yahoo! Chiebukuro's functionality to help users find answers and insights to their problems and challenges.

The new feature is now available on Yahoo! Chiebukuro.

Users can select AI-generated responses when posting questions in eligible categories.
