Seoul, South Korea—Hyundai Motor Company (005380. KS) announced that it has achieved 100 million units in global cumulative production 57 years after its foundation in 1967.

The milestone was marked at a ceremony at Hyundai's Ulsan Plant in Korea, where the 100 millionth vehicle, an IONIQ 5, was delivered to a customer.

The company also presented a '100 million and 1' commemorative display, symbolizing its commitment to further growth.

Hyundai Motor reached the 50 million vehicle production mark in 2013, indicating increased production over the past decade.

The company operates production facilities in Turkey, India, the United States, and the Czech Republic, contributing to its global manufacturing capacity.

The Ulsan Plant began operations in 1968 and produced Korea's first mass-produced independent model, the Pony, in 1975.

Currently, the plant is a central hub for Hyundai's electrification efforts.

In 2023, Hyundai established the Hyundai Motor Group Global Innovation Center Singapore (HMGICS), which focused on smart manufacturing technologies, including artificial intelligence, robotics, and smart factories.

These innovations are slated for implementation in future production facilities, such as the Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA).
