Seoul, South Korea - Healing Paper reported that the number of Thai users booking Korean hospitals through its medical app increased tenfold in seven months.

The company operates Gangnam Unni, a platform providing information about medical procedures.

It launched a Thai-language version of its UNNI app in November 2024.

Healing Paper stated that the app ranked second in the beauty category on Android app stores in Thailand and eleventh in the health and fitness category on iOS.

The app allows users with Thai-language phone settings to view Korean medical clinic information in Thai.

Reviews from users of different nationalities are automatically translated into Thai, according to the company.

Chat consultations between Thai users and Korean hospitals include automatic translation, according to Healing Paper.

The company entered the Japanese market in November 2019 and reported having 1.5 million users in Japan.

It established a Japanese subsidiary in November 2020. The company said 1,500 Japanese hospitals are registered on its platform.

Healing Paper described Thailand as its second overseas market.

The company stated that Thailand's medical beauty market is growing at a rate of more than 12 percent annually.

Thai users are primarily women in their late twenties to early thirties, according to the company.

Procedures of interest include skin lifting, rhinoplasty (nose surgery), and fat contouring.

The company plans to develop content for Thai medical tourists and strengthen partnerships with Korean hospitals seeking foreign patients from Thailand.

"Many foreign tourists still face constraints in accessing information about Korea's excellent hospitals," said Seung-il Hong, Healing Paper's chief executive.

Hong said the company confirmed the potential for Korean medical tourism in Thailand through seven months of operation.

Gangnam Unni serves 7.5 million users domestically and internationally.

The platform provides information for 2,700 Korean hospitals and 1,500 Japanese hospitals.

Hospital consultation requests total 6 million, and registered reviews number 2.4 million as of June 2025, the company said.
