KT (NYSE: KT) announced the launch of its Robot Makers platform and delivery robots at Mobile World Congress 2023.
The cloud-based platform integrates different types of robots and the infrastructure needed to deploy robots, including elevators, ordering and payment applications, doors, intercoms, and low-temperature distribution systems.
The open structure of the platform allows different robots to be used in different businesses, with SDKs and APIs available for integration.
KT’s Delivery Robot, unveiled for the first time at MWC 2023, leverages the company’s experience in robotic services and introduces a cold chain system that controls temperature and humidity in the cargo box.
The system maximizes the freshness of food during delivery and will be expanded to other robotic services installed in hotels and hospitals.
KT plans to use the delivery robot for resorts and campgrounds, where remote ordering is possible with a QR code in the tent.
Customers will be able to experience a new camping culture, KT said.
KT also unveiled its AI-based disinfection robot, commercialized last year, for the global market at MWC 2023.
The robot can autonomously perform air purification, airborne virus disinfection, and floor virus disinfection functions. KT plans to expand its robot services globally, starting with the AI-based disinfection robot.
KT’s Robot Makers platform and autonomous delivery robots aim to improve customer experience and contribute to developing new businesses.
