LG Display Begins Mass Production of 480Hz Gaming OLED Panel
Seoul, South Korea—LG Display (034220. KS) announced on Thursday that it has started mass production of a 27-inch 480Hz QHD Gaming OLED panel, targeting the high-end gaming market.
The new panel boasts the industry's highest refresh rate of 480Hz and fastest response time of 0.02ms, combined with QHD (2560x1440) resolution.
LG Display is currently the only company to achieve a 480Hz refresh rate on a Gaming OLED panel.
The product features a four-sided borderless design and optimized WRGB pixel structure for improved text readability.
It also incorporates LG Display's META Technology, which uses a Micro Lens Array to maximize brightness and minimize reflections.
Additional technologies include Dynamic Frequency & Resolution (DFR), which allows users to switch between high-refresh-rate and high-resolution modes, and Bendable OLED, which enables screen curvature up to 800R.
LG Display is expanding its Gaming OLED lineup, offering sizes from 27 to 45 inches.
According to market research firm Omdia, the company aims to secure leadership in the high-end gaming display market, which is projected to reach USD 15.1315 billion by 2027.
