Seoul, South Korea—Naver has launched a new e-grocery service called Neighborhood Super Grocery in partnership with Tomato, a local supermarket platform operated by Retail & Insight.

The move marks Naver's latest effort to expand its competitive online grocery market presence.

The service, which promises two-hour delivery from local supermarkets, will initially cover 137 stores in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Gyeongbuk, and Daegu.

By the end of the year, it plans to reach 400 supermarkets nationwide.

Naver aims to leverage Retail & Insight's existing network of over 2,000 local supermarkets to create a dense delivery network.

To support local merchants, Naver will waive sales linkage fees for one year, help create promotional content, and work with local governments to attract customers.

The company also plans to offer discounts and incentives to users, such as a 10% coupon for regular purchases and up to 5% points for Naver Plus members.

The launch of Neighborhood Super Grocery comes as Naver continues to diversify its e-commerce portfolio.

Previously, it has partnered with traditional markets, large supermarkets, department stores, and convenience stores.

The move will increase competition in South Korea's burgeoning e-grocery sector.
