Paris, France - Samsung Electronics (005930. KS) has announced its intention to integrate the public transportation services of Île-de-France Mobilités (IDFM) into its Samsung Wallet app for users in France.

The integration is scheduled to commence this summer.

The integration will facilitate access to Navigo Travel Card services for users of Samsung Galaxy devices, thereby enabling seamless public transportation across the Île-de-France region, including Paris.

Furthermore, Samsung is collaborating with Air France to streamline the administration of flight tickets via the Wallet application and enhance the travel experience for residents and tourists.

The company has indicated that users can use their devices to board buses, metros, and RER lines, reducing reliance on physical cards or tickets.

Samsung Wallet will facilitate card-based transit payments across French cities, including Marseille, Lyon, Toulouse, Lille, and Aix-en-Provence.

The technology firm is expanding the functionality of its Add to Wallet feature to encompass tickets for attractions such as the Palace of Versailles and over 200 cinemas.

This expansion will facilitate accessibility from Samsung Galaxy devices.

Although the company did not provide specific financial estimates or the number of anticipated users for these new services, expanding its digital wallet services in France could enhance its position in the competitive mobile payments sector.

By integrating essential travel and tourism functions, Samsung can increase user engagement with its Wallet application, which could lead to a broader adoption of its mobile payment solutions.
