SoftBank Launches EBC STATION Ai Innovation Hub

Nagoya, Japan - SoftBank Corp announced plans to open an innovation experience center called "EBC STATION Ai" at Japan's largest open innovation hub, STATION Ai, in Nagoya by January 2025.

The 670-square-meter facility will showcase over 50 technology solutions, including artificial intelligence, smart building systems, and metaverse applications from SoftBank, its group companies, partner companies, and startups based at STATION Ai.

The new center will prominently feature solutions from regional companies, including Tohbo Technology's CMOS odor imaging sensor for high-precision scent detection and measurement and Toyota Motor Corp's TOTONE nap seat, which applies automotive spatial design and drowsiness prevention technologies.

NGK Insulators will display its EnerCera ultra-thin lithium-ion secondary batteries for IoT and wearable devices. 

At the same time, Brother Industries will showcase BuddyBoard, a note-sharing application enabling real-time collaboration between remote users.

Esmatt will also present the facility with the SmartMat Cloud. This IoT service automates inventory management through smart mat technology, 

Pestalozzi Technology's ALPHA system is used to digitally measure and analyze physical fitness tests in schools, and Yuurea's instant urinalysis service is used for health monitoring.

The expansion builds upon SoftBank's existing Executive Briefing Center at its headquarters, which has served over 2,000 corporate clients since its June 2021 opening.
