Team Blind enters the online dating market with Trust-building Verification System

Team Blind, known for its anonymous community service, is beta testing a new online dating application called Bleet.

The app is set to officially launch this month, with 1,000 users signing up in 3 hours on the first day of the open beta.

Bleet is currently ranked #61 in the social networking category on the AppStore and has been named a suddenly popular application by Google Play.

A critical issue for users of online dating applications is trust.

Team Blind aims to differentiate Bleet by utilizing a user verification process similar to their Blind application, which requires a corporate email account for verification.

This approach addresses user trust concerns while leveraging Team Blind's expertise in user verification.

Bleet will follow a freemium model like other online and casual dating applications. Users can access basic features for free but must pay for additional features.

Team Blind's anonymous bulletin board application, Blind, already features a popular category called "Self Blind Date" (셀소 in Korean), where users post about themselves to meet other singles.

With an average of 50,000 daily users, Team Blind recognized the potential for a standalone dating app. Bleet is expected to build on the success of the "Self Blind Date" category.

South Korea's online dating market is estimated to be worth $58 million with 5.3 million users, according to Statista.

The market is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR 2020-2024) of 4.8%.

The casual dating market in South Korea is estimated to be worth $21 million with 0.9 million users and is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 3.7% (2020-2024).

With 161 online dating applications currently available on Google Play, Bleet will enter a competitive but growing market.

Team Blind is expanding its business by leveraging its existing user base, launching a matching recruitment platform in February and an employee listening tool, Blind Hub, in August.

The company's foray into the online dating market with Bleet demonstrates its commitment to growth and innovation across multiple sectors.
