Seoul, South Korea - Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Corporation have unveiled the new design of their DAL-e delivery robot.

The new design incorporates autonomous driving capabilities and facial recognition technology to improve delivery performance in complex indoor environments.

The robot's design is based on four Plug & Drive (PnD) modules that integrate an engine with steering, suspension, braking systems, and environmental sensing sensors.

This allows the DAL-e Delivery to efficiently navigate around obstacles and narrow aisles, reaching speeds of up to 1.2 m/s.

Developed by Hyundai Motor Group's Robotics Lab and certified by the Korea Internet and Security Agency, the robot's facial recognition technology ensures safe deliveries.

The enhanced suspension system provides a stable ride, allowing the robot to carry up to 16 cups of coffee and items weighing up to 10 kg.

DAL-e Delivery is scheduled to debut at IGIS Asset Management's "Factorial Seongsu" in the second quarter. It aims to revolutionize food, beverage, and parcel delivery services.

Hyundai and Kia plan to deploy the robot in various spaces, including offices, restaurants, and shopping malls, as part of their vision to realize infrastructure interworking.
