Source: Hyundai Motor Group

Seoul, South Korea - Hyundai Motor Group and the Dutch government have agreed to cooperate to enable smart mobility and connectivity services for Hyundai and Kia vehicles.

The project, a collaboration between Hyundai's Advanced Vehicle Platform Division, Kia Connect GmbH, and the Netherlands, will enable the infotainment systems of Hyundai and Kia vehicles to connect to the Dutch infrastructure.

This connection will allow vehicles to receive real-time traffic and safety information, such as accident data and ambulance alerts.

Starting in the fourth quarter of this year, drivers in the Netherlands who have subscribed to the connected car service for Hyundai and Kia vehicles will be able to access these features.

The features will be enabled through wireless software updates using over-the-air technology.

The initiative aligns with Hyundai Motor Group's strategy to transition to a software-defined ecosystem, focusing on user-centric mobility solutions driven by software and AI.

The Group aims to improve road safety and reduce traffic congestion through enhanced communication between vehicles and infrastructure.
