Seoul, South Korea—KT (NYSE: KT) is establishing a robotics startup to expand its outdoor self-driving robot business.

In a recent announcement, KT disclosed that it had entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Neubility to establish a business agreement.

KT will provide a robotics integration platform, 5G infrastructure, and sales activities and will collaborate with Neubility to develop self-driving robots and robotic products.

Neubility is a prominent startup in South Korea that specializes in self-driving robot technology.

The company was established in 2017 and developed the fundamental hardware and software technologies for camera-based self-driving robots.

Neubility employs a camera instead of a lidar sensor to maintain price competitiveness.

The company is gaining experience with self-driving services through the self-driving delivery robot "Neubie" and the RaaS (Robotics as a Service) platform "Neubie Go."

Since 2021, KT has launched a range of robot products, including AI service robots, AI quarantine robots, and AI hotel robots, based on its self-developed robot integration platform.

KT has announced its intention to expand the scope of its indoor-only service to encompass outdoor use.

The company is preparing to provide robot services in various locations, including residential areas, resorts, and urban centers.
