KT Corp reports the Q4 2022 business results.

KT (KRX: 030200) reported consolidated revenue of KRW 2.56 trillion, up 3.0% year-on-year, and separate revenue of KRW 1.82 trillion, according to K-IFRS 2022.

The company has accelerated its digital transformation and strengthened its profitability by growing its digital platform and B2B business.

This resulted in a consolidated operating profit of KRW 1.690 trillion and a separate operating profit of KRW 1.681 trillion for the full year 2022.

Service revenue increased 1.7% to KRW 15.76 trillion and 3.4% to KRW 16.3 trillion, including KT CLOUD.

This is more than three times the average service revenue growth rate in the three years before fully implementing the digital platform management strategy.

KT Group’s B2B business saw strong growth in its core areas, such as B2B and AICC, driven by the digital transformation needs of enterprises (DX) triggered by COVID-19.

Revenue in the AICC business increased by 88.9% year-on-year, driven by successful large-scale projects in the financial sector and the growth of the A’Cen Cloud.

The Telco B2B Internet business for enterprises recorded a 7.7% year-on-year increase in traffic from large domestic and foreign CPs, while business calls grew by 7.7%.

In the B2C digital platform business, the IPTV business consolidated its position with a 6.5% year-on-year increase in revenue, driven by efforts to lower the barriers for media platforms.

KT Group saw solid growth in its wired and wireless business (Telco B2C) driven by premium subscribers, with 8.45 million 5G subscribers accounting for 62% of total subscribers by the handset.

In 2022, KT Group’s content business started to grow with 25.4% year-on-year revenue growth in content, advertising, and commerce.

KT StudioGenie achieved more than KRW 100 billion in revenue and an operating profit of KRW 9.6 billion.

KT Group is strengthening its AI capabilities and building an AI ecosystem. In H1 2023, the company will launch the supersized AI ‘Faith’ and expand it to a model with 200 billion parameters.

The company is focused on expanding its AICC business and improving its business models through KT Alpha, KT CS, and KT IS.

KT Cloud will continue its double-digit growth through 2022 by expanding its leadership position in the public cloud transition market and making DC profitable.

The company plans to grow by targeting public and strategic customers, securing its leadership position in the AI cloud market, and expanding new IDC.
