LG Channels See Impressive Growth as European Market Embraces Free Ad-Supported Streaming

Source: LG Electronics

LG Channels, the exclusive free streaming service from LG Electronics, has seen a staggering 200% growth in its European user base over the past year.

This growth reflects the increasing popularity of LG’s premium service and the growing demand for free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) in Europe and worldwide.

According to LG, the number of LG Channels users has tripled in the 16 European markets where the service is available.

This has significantly increased viewing time across various content categories, including movies, TV series, music, and news.

Industry experts predict that the global growth of FAST services will continue, with the UK and Germany expected to be among the largest FAST markets by 2027.

To meet this growing demand, LG plans to expand its service by adding new content, improving user experience features, and increasing content available on the LG Channels mobile app.

LG Channels have been expanding its content library, offering more local language channels in various categories such as news, lifestyle, TV series, movies, and sports.

A recent partnership with DAZN allows LG Channels to offer DAZN FAST and the newly announced DAZN Rise, the first 24/7 streaming channel dedicated to women’s sports.

LG has also expanded the content on the LG Channels mobile app, giving users more viewing options.

In addition, LG is launching advertising video-on-demand (AVOD) titles in five European countries with content offered in multiple languages through partnerships with companies such as Minerva Pictures, LoveTV Channels, and Shoot for Love.

New channels such as Storylands and Hell’s Kitchen will be added through a collaboration with ITV Studios, offering viewers high-quality European drama and entertainment hosted by Michelin-starred chef Gordon Ramsay.
