To revitalize its city brand, the Seoul Metropolitan Government has announced "Seoul, My Soul" as its new slogan.

The decision was made after an extended voting period in December last year and received 650,000 votes.

The initiative began with a poll until January 31, resulting in a shortlist of two potential slogans: "Seoul, My Soul" and "Seoul for You."

These were closely contested, receiving 37.3% and 34.9% of the votes.

A second poll was conducted between February 15 and March 16, and a clear winner emerged: "Seoul, My Soul" emerged as the preferred choice with 63.1% of the vote, ahead of "Seoul for You" with 36.9%.

The new slogan was first unveiled at the finale of the 2023 Hangang Light Show on April 29.

The show, which will be held at Ttukseom Hangang Park, will run thrice in May, each performance lasting ten minutes and starting at 8 p.m.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government is finalizing the design of the new slogan, and the completed city brand will be unveiled soon.

This change marks a significant milestone in Seoul's journey to revamp its city brand and foster a deeper connection with its residents and visitors.
