Tokyo, Japan—Rakuten Symphony, a subsidiary of the Japanese e-commerce giant Rakuten Group, announced the domestic launch of "Rakuten NEO," an AI-powered IoT solution for unmanned space management.

The new service aims to automate facility operations such as inventory checks, access control, and HVAC systems management.

It is designed to help businesses address labor shortages and maximize profits through efficient space management.

Based on technology from South Korean startup Alicorn, Rakuten NEO has already demonstrated success in South Korea.

GS Holdings Corp reported an 80% reduction in personnel costs after implementing the system.

Rakuten Symphony plans to initially focus on the Japanese market before expanding globally.

The company sees potential applications in various sectors, including offices, showrooms, accommodation facilities, and sports centers.

Rakuten Symphony aims to capture a larger share of the AI-powered IoT market by enabling fully automated business operations.

Ryan Song, head of Internet Services at Rakuten Symphony, stated, "We aim to provide a socially beneficial service that reduces losses due to labor shortages in Japan's retail industry."
