Samsung's 2023 TVs Receive 'Low Vision Care' Certification

Source: Samsung Electronics

Seoul, South Korea - Samsung Electronics (KRX: 005930) announced that its Neo QLED and QLED 2023 models have received the "Low Vision Care" certification from TÜV Rheinland.

The Key Points

The certification evaluates products based on how they can help viewers with amblyopia. Amblyopia is a visual impairment that affects an estimated 3% of children.

To meet the certification requirements, Samsung developed a feature called Relumino Mode. It highlights specific elements in videos to improve contrast and clarity.

TÜV Rheinland's evaluation process includes several tests that evaluate the performance of standard display modes against Relumino Mode. These tests focus on clarity, sharpness, and overall visual comfort.

What has Samsung done before?

This is not the first time Samsung has received certifications to improve user comfort.

The company also holds the "Circadian Rhythm Display" and "Eye Care" certifications from the Association of German Electrical Engineers (VDE), as well as the "Glare-Free" validation from Underwriters Laboratories (UL).

In addition, Samsung has received Pantone Validated and Skin Tone Validated certifications from Pantone.

Samsung has led the global TV market for 17 consecutive years.

Samsung recently added Low Vision Care certification to its portfolio, demonstrating its continued focus on inclusive technology.
