Dalian, China - The World Economic Forum (WEF) published its annual Top 10 Emerging Technologies report. 

The report identifies technologies that are expected to have an impact on societies and economies within the next three to five years.  It was released at the Annual Meeting of the New Champions.

The report identifies artificial intelligence (AI)-powered scientific discovery as a principal emerging technology. 

This entails the implementation of deep learning and generative AI to enhance the efficacy of research procedures. 

Moreover, the report underscores the potential of privacy-enhancing technologies, including synthetic data, to enhance data privacy and security. 

The objective of these technologies is to achieve a balance between the sharing of data and the protection of personal privacy.

The report underscores the pivotal role of climate-related technologies. 

Microbes that are capable of capturing carbon are able to transform emissions into products such as biofuels. 

Elastocaloric technology offers an alternative to traditional cooling technologies.

Furthermore, the report underscores the advancement of communication technologies.

Reconfigurable intelligent surfaces facilitate enhanced efficiency in wireless communication. 

The objective of high-altitude platform stations is to provide mobile network access to remote areas.

Moreover, the report encompasses technologies pertinent to the field of health. 

Genomics for transplants involves the use of genetically engineered organs. 

This development may prove beneficial to individuals awaiting organ transplants.

The list of technologies also includes integrated sensing and communication, immersive technology for infrastructure, and alternative livestock feeds. 

These technologies are applicable to a diverse range of sectors, including agriculture and urban planning.

The WEF collaborated with Frontiers to produce the report. 

The selection process involved the participation of over 300 experts. The report included an analysis of academic literature, funding trends, and patent filings.

In a statement, Jeremy Jurgens, Managing Director of the World Economic Forum (WEF), indicated that the objective of the report is to identify technologies that are influencing societies and economies.

Frederick Fenter of Frontiers emphasized the report's role in illuminating scientific advancements with the potential to enhance the quality of life.

The report serves as a repository of strategic intelligence for professionals engaged in decision-making processes within a variety of sectors. 

The objective is to provide information that can be utilized in the decision-making processes within a variety of sectors.

It is anticipated that the identified technologies will achieve considerable scale within a five-year period.

The 2024 Annual Meeting of the New Champions is scheduled to take place from June 25 to 27. 

The report's principal focus is on "Next Frontiers for Growth."

It report on emerging technologies is consistent with this theme, identifying potential areas for future development and innovation.
