Tokyo, Japan - LY Corporation announced the addition of image generation and personalized memory features to its artificial intelligence assistant, Agent i.

The update introduces a text-to-image generator and an image-editing tool for user-uploaded photos.

The image generation feature is subject to a daily usage cap. Generated images are not currently saved to user chat histories, though LY Corporation said it plans to enable that in a future update.

The image tools are currently available on the Yahoo! JAPAN application (iOS), the LINE application (iOS), and the browser-based version of Yahoo! JAPAN (iOS and PC). Android support is scheduled for a later rollout.

The update also adds personalization features, which require a Yahoo! JAPAN ID login. Users can choose from 10 conversational tones for the AI's text responses, including "friendly," "tsundere," and "butler." The assistant can also address users by a registered nickname.

A new memory function allows the software to automatically extract and store contextual information from past user interactions.

LY Corporation said this data is used to inform future responses based on user preferences.

Users can view, delete, or disable stored memory data through the application's settings.

The company said memory data has been accumulating in phases since April 2026 and will eventually connect with domain-specific assistants for shopping and travel planning.

The update also expands the assistant's specialized domain agents.

Seven new categories — including learning, lifestyle, and entertainment — were added, bringing the total number of specialized domains to 15, including beta versions.
