Naver Invests in Drone Developer UVify

Naver invests in drone swarm developer UVify to integrate AI, cloud, and digital twin technology with autonomous drones for smart cities.

Seoul, South Korea - Naver has invested in UVify, a developer of drone swarm and autonomous flight technologies, to integrate artificial intelligence capabilities with drone hardware.

The investment aims to combine Naver's artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and digital twin technologies with UVify's autonomous drone systems. 

The companies said the partnership will focus on applications they described as "physical AI," targeting public-sector and smart-city infrastructure projects. Financial terms were not disclosed.

UVify recently received a $10 million export award, which the company described as a first for a South Korean drone manufacturer. 

he company is the sole South Korean entity on the board of directors of the Dronecode Foundation, the organization that manages the PX4 open-source drone operating system.

Naver CEO Soo-yeon Choi said the partnership aims to integrate Naver's physical AI technologies with UVify's hardware across multiple industrial sectors, citing the growing use of artificial intelligence in robotics and autonomous systems.
