Seoul, South Korea - Alibaba.com on Thursday announced the South Korean launch of Accio Work, an agentic artificial intelligence platform designed to automate business operations for small and medium-sized enterprises.

Accio Work is designed to function as an autonomous AI agent that executes workflows across the business cycle, including market research, product planning, sourcing, price negotiation, product registration, global marketing, and store management.

Unlike standard conversational AI models, the system is built to convert user instructions into tasks and carry them out autonomously.

The launch follows reported growth on Alibaba.com's South Korean platform.

Since the company introduced its Trade Assurance secure payment service in July 2025, the number of new South Korean export companies on the platform has increased 18% year-on-year.

During the same period, global buyer inquiries directed at South Korean sellers rose 128%.

Shawn Yang, head of the Asia-Pacific region at Alibaba.com, said Accio Work is intended to provide small and medium-sized enterprises and solo entrepreneurs with enterprise-level operational capabilities to enter and manage global markets.

Company executives said the AI system is designed to address common challenges in cross-border trade, including regulatory differences, specialized labor shortages, and manual supply chain tasks.

James Zhang, head of Global Seller Products and Services and Asia-Pacific Buyer Growth, said the platform automates repetitive operations, allowing businesses to focus on supplier negotiations and risk management without expanding headcount.

Marco Yang, Alibaba.com's Korea country manager, said the tool was designed to help domestic companies manage the increase in buyer inquiries and streamline operational workflows.
