Coupang (NYSE: CPNG) announced that its Taiwan app was the most downloaded free application in Taiwan in April, surpassing other top apps such as Google, TikTok, and Facebook.
The app maintains its position on iOS and Android platforms (excluding games).
"We are entering a new era of global commerce, and digital transformation has become a necessary element in creating the future of commerce. Coupang's most affordable prices, fast delivery service, and wide selection resonate strongly with Taiwanese customers," said Peter W.J. Huang, secretary general of the Importers and Exporters Association of Taipei.
In October 2022, Coupang launched its Rocket Delivery trial in Taiwan, offering free next-day delivery for orders of NTD490 ($15.9) or more.
The service quickly gained popularity, especially among parents, for fast, reliable delivery of baby products and other items.
Meanwhile, Rocket Overseas offers free international shipping on millions of best-selling products from South Korea, the U.S., and beyond for orders of NTD690 ($22.4) or more.
"Coupang's Rocket Overseas and Rocket Delivery trial service has been operating across Taiwan for six months.

Coupang is currently running a limited-time promotion offering a 30% discount, up to NTD300 ($9.7), to all first-time customers who purchase via Rocket Delivery, with no minimum order amount.
This is another attractive feature for the booming e-commerce retailer as it continues to expand its presence in Asia.
