Seoul, South Korea - Hyundai Motor Company (005380. KS) unveiled its latest addition to the automotive market, the INSTER, an all-electric A-segment SUV.

The vehicle was exhibited at the 2024 Busan International Mobility Show, where it was presented as a potential competitor in the expanding market for compact urban electric vehicles.

The INSTER offers a targeted driving range of up to 355 km (WLTP) for its long-range variant, which Hyundai asserts is superior to other vehicles in its class.

The vehicle will have two battery options: a standard 42 kWh and a long-range 49 kWh.

The INSTER is equipped with several notable features, including:

  • The INSTER is equipped with fast charging capability, enabling a 10-80% charge in approximately 30 minutes using a 120 kW DC charger. Moreover, the vehicle has advanced driver assistance systems, including Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist and Highway Driving Assist.
  • The vehicle's interior has been designed with versatility, with foldable seats, including the driver's seat. Moreover, the INSTER is constructed with both exterior and interior sustainable materials.
  • The INSTER will be initially launched in South Korea this summer, followed by releases in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific.

Hyundai has announced plans to introduce an additional variant, the INSTER CROSS, with a more rugged design later.

The company aims to position the INSTER between traditional A-segment city cars and larger B-segment models.

This is accomplished by providing enhanced practicality while maintaining ease of use in urban environments.

Hyundai still needs to release information regarding the pricing of the new model.
