Prague, Czech Republic - Hyundai Motor Company and Škoda Group have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to collaborate on hydrogen technology and energy-efficient mobility solutions, the companies announced on Friday.

The agreement, signed during the Korea-Czech Business Summit in Prague, focuses on establishing a hydrogen mobility ecosystem and exploring sustainable future mobility options.

Under the MOU, Škoda Group will study the adoption of Hyundai's hydrogen fuel cell systems and technologies.

The collaboration aims to accelerate hydrogen adoption and contribute to carbon neutrality across global markets, including the Czech Republic.

The partnership will explore hydrogen ecosystem opportunities beyond mobility, leveraging Hyundai's expertise in operating hydrogen applications in the mobility and energy sectors.

Established in 2008, Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Czech has an annual manufacturing capacity of 350,000 vehicles and was the largest foreign investment in the Czech Republic at the time.

Both companies view hydrogen as a key element for a sustainable society, starting with mobility.
