LONDON, United Kingdom. /SEOUL, South Korea - Hyundai Motor Group and the University of Oxford have established a joint research center to shape the automaker's long-term vision and strategy, the companies announced on Tuesday.

The Oxford-Hyundai Motor Group Foresight Centre, based at Oxford's Saïd Business School, will explore future trends and help Hyundai navigate geopolitical shifts and risks.

The center aims to strengthen Hyundai's ability to proactively shape its future and identify critical focus points for addressing upcoming challenges.

The center will utilize Oxford's expertise in scenario planning to conduct research to advance humanity's progress and facilitate conversations between government, academia, and industry experts.

Hyundai plans to implement specialized programs, such as the Oxford Scenarios Programme, to share insights across the group and ensure strategic alignment.

The automaker will engage with its open innovation network across key global locations to expand its ecosystems in realizing its envisioned future.

Professor Rafael Ramirez, known for his expertise in future scenario planning, will direct the center, with Titular Associate Professor Trudi Lang serving as co-director.
