Seoul, South Korea - Kakao Bank announced on Tuesday that its digital certificate service has attracted over 14 million users in 18 months since its launch.

The cumulative number of certificates issued has exceeded 20 million.

The "Kakao Bank Certificate" allows users to perform financial transactions, authentications, and electronic signatures through the bank's mobile application.

Despite being a late entrant in the banking sector, the service has rapidly gained a large user base due to its convenience, proprietary authentication security technology, and high safety standards.

Key features of the certificate include easy access through biometric or PIN authentication within the Kakao Bank app, eliminating the need for separate mobile phone verification or public certificates.

The certificate can be used to verify identity on public and private websites and apps, as well as for financial transactions and electronic contracts.

Kakao Bank has implemented advanced security measures, including data center redundancy, a 24-hour customer service center, and real-time monitoring systems.

The bank also develops financial authentication and security solutions, such as ID card recognition, facial authentication, and invisible authentication.

Various public institutions and private sector services currently accept the certificate.

Kakao Bank plans to expand its service scope and partnerships to increase user convenience.
