Building on the success of significant adaptations such as "Moving," "Business Proposal," "The Uncanny Counter," and "Not Others," the company showcases its multimedia integration capabilities with "The Bequeathed" and "Gyeongseong Creature.
"The Bequeathed - From Webtoon to Netflix Series
"The Bequeathed" makes its global debut as the popular Kakao Entertainment webtoon leaps Netflix. Part 1 was a massive success on Kakao Page and Kakao Webtoon in Korea, leaving fans hungry.
The long wait is almost over, as Part 2 and the Netflix premiere launch on January 19.
The Netflix series is directed by Sang-ho Yeon, known for such works as "Train to Busan," "Peninsula" and "Hellbound. The nail-biting crime thriller also boasts a star-studded cast while cleverly mixing Korean themes.
It follows protagonist Seo-ha Yoon (Kim Hyun-ju), who inherits a mysterious cemetery after the sudden death of her uncle.
As sinister events and murders unfold, shocking truths about her family and the cemetery come to light.
Written by Tae-Kyung Kang and illustrated by Jonoon and Rido, the webtoon delves deep into complex relationships and a descent into madness fueled by the cemetery's dark allure.
Jonoon and Rido, known for their masterful storytelling in "Ornithophobia," reunite to infuse the story with horror and haunting visuals.

Kakao Entertainment is also proving adept at adapting content from TV to webtoon with an official spin-off of the hit Netflix original "Gyeongseong Creature."
Created by Moai and Supercomics Studio, "Gyeongseong Creature: The Unwithering Flower" brings a fresh perspective to the story and expands the universe.
The original Netflix survival thriller is set in 1945 Seoul and follows young heroes facing off against human experiment monsters.
The webtoon spinoff is on a remote island where various experiments have created unique creatures.
It follows Geum-ran as she avoids a monstrous fate and emerges with human intelligence.
