London, U.K. - Kia's upcoming electric van PV5 has secured the 'One to Watch' Award at the What Van? Awards 2025, marking the South Korean automaker's first recognition in the UK commercial vehicle sector.

The award was presented at a ceremony held at the London Hilton Bankside hotel.

An independent panel of judges from the light commercial vehicle sector recognized the PV5's potential to transform the electric load carrier market.

James Dallas, Editor of What Van? the van's versatile and modular design were key factors in the decision, noting its significance for the future of electric load carriers.

The PV5 represents Kia's first entry into the commercial van segment.

The production version is scheduled for reveal and launch in early 2025.

The vehicle is part of Kia's 'Plan S' global business strategy, first announced in January 2020.

The company broke ground on a dedicated electric van factory in April 2023, followed by the Concept PV5 and Concept PV7 unveiling at CES in Las Vegas in January 2024.

Kia's Commercial Director for the UK market, Simon Hetherington, described the company's entry into the van industry as a "ground-breaking moment" for the brand.

The PV5 will feature Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability and integrated fleet management solutions.

However, full specifications, pricing details, and the UK business strategy will not be released until early 2025.
