KT (NYSE: KT) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Intel to promote Wi-Fi 7 technology for a better user experience and stable Wi-Fi 7 performance.
Wi-Fi 7 is a next-generation Wi-Fi specification based on the 802.11be standard under consideration by the IEEE.
Wi-Fi 7 offers speeds of up to 11.5 Gbps, which can be used for high-data usage, high-quality video, teleconferencing, AR, and VR services.
The two companies will collaborate on technology adoption and promotion for rapid market entry.
They will showcase their latest technologies at MWC 2023 in Barcelona, Spain.
KT will develop APs based on its ability to develop and operate Korea’s largest WiFi AP (router).
Intel will develop Wi-Fi 7 solutions to continue its market leadership in PCs.
The worldwide Wi-Fi 7 standard is expected to be completed in early ’24.
