LG Energy Solution, Doosan Bobcat Partner on Battery Tech

Seoul, South Korea - LG Energy Solution (KRX: 373220) and Doosan Bobcat (KRX: 241560) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to develop standardized battery pack solutions for compact construction equipment.

The partnership aims to accelerate electrification in the construction sector through solutions that can be applied to various equipment, including skid-steer loaders and excavators. 

The companies will focus on major markets such as North America while exploring opportunities to extend the collaboration to ground maintenance equipment like tractors.

LG Energy Solution will supply cylindrical batteries for Doosan Bobcat's flagship construction equipment models. 

The batteries were selected for their performance characteristics in challenging outdoor environments where construction equipment operates.

Construction equipment frequently faces extreme conditions including snow, rain, dust, and temperature fluctuations. 

LG Energy Solution's cylindrical batteries provide high voltage, energy density, and longevity with particular strength in low-temperature performance.

Doosan Bobcat established a dedicated electrification organization in January and plans to create a research and development center in Anyang, Gyeonggi Province in the second half of this year to conduct electrification research and verify battery pack production technology.

The collaboration aligns with LG Energy Solution's October 2024 announcement to diversify beyond electric vehicles into sectors such as Urban Air Mobility and marine vessels.
