LG Energy Solution Partners with Bear Robotics for Battery Supply

Seoul, South Korea- LG Energy Solution has secured an exclusive agreement to supply cylindrical batteries to Silicon Valley robotics firm Bear Robotics starting in 2025, the South Korean battery maker said on Monday.

The memorandum of understanding (MoU) establishes LG Energy Solution as the sole provider of 2170 cylindrical cells for Bear Robotics' service and logistics robots, including its Servi Plus and Carti 100 models.

The partnership includes plans for joint technological development between the two companies to strengthen their positions in the global robot market.

Bear Robotics, established in 2017 and operating in 20 countries, specializes in AI-powered autonomous serving robots for public and industrial spaces.

Given the robots' operation in high-traffic areas, LG Energy Solution highlighted its safety features, including NCMA cathode materials and ceramic-coated separators, as crucial factors in securing the partnership.

The agreement aligns with LG Energy Solution's October announcement of its "Empower Every Possibility" vision, which includes expanding beyond electric vehicle batteries into growth sectors such as robotics, Urban Air Mobility, and vessels.
