Seoul, South Korea—LG Innotek (011070: KS) announced it is developing a next-generation digital key solution for vehicles, aiming to lead the automotive communication component market.

The company plans to begin mass production in 2027.

The digital key solution allows users to open, lock, and start their cars using a smartphone connected through wireless communication technology.

It incorporates Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Ultra Wideband (UWB) technologies for improved localization accuracy and security.

LG Innotek's solution can detect a smartphone's location within 10cm and includes hacking prevention technology.

It adheres to Car Connectivity Consortium standards and is compatible with iOS and Android operating systems.

The solution also features a radar-based Child Presence Detection function, alerting users if a child is left in the vehicle.

This addresses upcoming mandatory requirements in the United States and Europe.

LG Innotek claims its solution is the smallest in the industry, packing over 60 components into a package smaller than a business card.

The company is promoting the solution to global automotive customers.

It expects to expand its sales volume of vehicle communication modules by more than four times this year compared to last year.
