Seoul, South Korea - LG Magna e-Powertrain, a joint venture between LG Electronics and Magna International, has received Cyber Security Management System (CSMS, ISO/SAE 21434:2021) certification from TÜV Rheinland, a global certification organization.
This certification confirms LG Magna's compliance with automotive cyber security regulations and the implementation of a comprehensive security system.
With the upcoming implementation of WP.29 UNECE R155 cybersecurity regulations in July 2024, automakers must ensure their vehicles meet these standards to receive type approval, a prerequisite for selling cars in 56 countries.
By achieving timely certification, LG Magna is well-positioned to capitalize on global automakers' growing demand for secure vehicle components.
The company underwent a rigorous process to identify and assess product security threats, develop a response strategy, and implement risk monitoring systems and mitigation procedures to qualify.
The company expects that its commitment to maintaining a robust cybersecurity framework throughout the lifecycle of each of its products will strengthen its position as a trusted supplier of vehicle components in the global marketplace.
