LIG Nex1 Acquires Ghost Robotics: $240M Defense Tech Deal

Seoul, South Korea—LIG Nex1 has acquired a 60% controlling stake in Ghost Robotics, a U.S.-based legged robotics company, for $240 million.

The deal values Ghost Robotics at $400 million and aims to accelerate the development of autonomous robotic solutions for industrial and defense markets.

Ghost Robotics, known for its quadrupedal uncrewed ground vehicles (Q-UGVs), will scale its operations by leveraging LIG Nex1's experience in defense technology and manufacturing.

Gavin Kenneally, Co-founder & CEO of Ghost Robotics, said the partnership would enhance the company's ability to deliver robotic solutions to a broader range of industries and applications.

LIG Nex1 CEO Shin IckHyun stated that the acquisition aligns with the company's vision to lead in defense and security technology.

The companies expect the partnership to foster innovation in next-generation robotic systems, combining Ghost Robotics' expertise in legged robotics with LIG Nex1's capabilities in advanced weapon systems and electronics.

Founded in 2015, Philadelphia-based Ghost Robotics develops Q-UGVs for various government and enterprise applications. 

LIG Nex1, headquartered in South Korea, specializes in defense technology solutions.
