LINE Launches AI ID Photo: Studio-Quality Pics in Your Phone

Tokyo, Japan - LINE Yahoo Corporation has launched "AI ID Photo," a new feature within its "LINE Profile Studio" that uses artificial intelligence to generate professional-looking ID photos. 

The service, available through the LINE messaging app, can produce studio-quality images within 24 hours.

Users can create ID photo-style images by uploading 8-12 selfies to the app. 

The AI then generates 20 visual images resembling professionally taken ID photos. 

Each generation produces unique results, even when using the same input photos.

The company offers two package options:

• Standard: 20 AI-generated images in 24 hours for 130 LINE coins
• Express: 20 AI-generated images in a shorter time frame for 220 LINE coins

The generated images can be used as LINE profile pictures, downloaded on other social media platforms, or used for business cards with facial photos.

LINE Yahoo Corporation stated that the launch was inspired by the growing popularity of unmanned "self-photo studios" in Japan, a trend that originated in Korea.

The company emphasized that users should only upload photos of themselves, as using others' photos violates the LINE Profile Studio's terms of service. 

They also cautioned that the AI-generated images are intended for private use only and should not be submitted to official institutions.

LINE plans to expand its Profile Studio service with more AI-powered features and collaborations with other services to enhance user self-expression within the LINE app.
