Tokyo, Japan - LINE Yahoo Co., Ltd. has introduced two new artificial intelligence services within its messaging application.

The features "LINE AI" and "LINE AI Talk Suggest" aim to enhance user communication through the use of generative AI technology.

According to the announcement, the new offerings form part of the company's mission to create what it calls a "WOW life platform" that delivers "daily excitement" to users.

LINE AI offers a dedicated platform, accessible from the app's home screen.

On this platform, users can ask questions, collect information, and generate images at no cost.

The service comprises three main functions: question-answering, image analysis, and image generation.

The company states that the image generation feature allows users to create custom images by inputting specific conditions, which can then be downloaded or shared.

However, LINE Yahoo notes that "AI Text" usage is subject to daily limits per user.

The second feature, "LINE AI Talk Suggest," offers message recommendations, sticker suggestions, and tone conversion services.

Once activated through "LINE Labs," the AI can draft responses, recommend LINE stickers, and convert messages into five different speaking styles, including formal, casual, and themed options like "cat language" and "samurai speech."

This service is capped at 300 daily uses and 2,000 monthly uses per person.

The company specifies that recent conversation history is only processed in chat rooms where users have consented to the terms of service.

LINE Yahoo emphasizes that both services are available to users 13 years and older and utilize OpenAI's technology, among other APIs.

The company explicitly states it does not guarantee the "reliability, accuracy, completeness, or validity" of AI-generated outputs.

The launch follows earlier AI initiatives from LINE Yahoo, including the previously available "LINE AI Assistant" and "AI Message Conversion" services.
